Efe Gold starts with dried grapes processed into unfermented grape juice. Once this is complete the grape juice is fermented and distilled into suma. The suma is then distilled again but this time with anise seeds in traditional copper alembics to produce Efe Gold Raki.
Using the core of this distillation can prove to be quite harsh, so the liquid is diluted with mineral-balanced water from natural spring waters in order to produce a softer product. Last, the raki is left to age for 120 days in Oak barrels to give it a smoother finish in both aroma and flavor.
Notes: Strong, medium-bodied. Aromas and flavors of anise, fennel and white pepper
Pairings: Kofte, roasted eggplant, fresh melon
Serving suggestions: Chilled with a splash of water or a single ice cube
Region: Turkey
Alcohol Content: 45%
