After becoming the top selling bourbon in the 1920's, Four Roses was acquired by Seagram's distillery. A decade later, they discontinued Four Roses Kentucky Straight Bourbon, but the flavor of satisfaction is hard to forget, so in 2002, when the distillery changed hands the new owners resurrected the classic and expanded the entire Four Roses portfolio.
Made from a mash of 60% corn, 35% rye and 5% malted barley, Four Roses Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey and aged for a minimum of eight years in newly charred, white-oak casks. It's high rye content creates a rich, spicy flavor and gives the bourbon notes of nutmeg and cinnamon. The proprietary yeast imparts a light, fruity balance that is balanced out by the aging process for sweet notes of maple syrup and caramel.
Notes: Smooth, medium-bodied. Aromas and flavors of clove, raspberry, vanilla, apricot.
Pairings: Brisket, burger, peach cobbler
Serving Suggestions: Neat or on the rocks
Region: Kentucky
Alcohol Content: 50%
