Opus One was founded in 1984, as a joint venture between Mouton Rothschild and Robert Mondavi (the equivalent of a Biggie and Tupac collaboration). An international success Opus One wines are considered to be among the creme de la creme Bordeaux-style wines.
The duality of both winemakers was and is unified by a singular concept; the pursuit of uncompromising quality. Comprised of four parcels, Opus One vineyards, sit in the western portion of the Napa Valley.
At the helm is winemaker, Michael Silacci who carries on the founders vision by keeping a close eye on all parts of production.
Overture By Opus One, is a natural extension of the creation of Opus One. A timeless expression the vineyards, that blends five traditional Bordeaux grape varieties Overture by Opus One, captures the terroir characteristics of the same variety grown in different soils.
Full bodied but approachable, Overture shows generous dark fruit aromas and flavors with a soft, supple mid-palate that will develop beautifully over time if stored properly.
Notes: Dry, full-bodied. Aromas and flavors of cassis, cherry, currant, and blackberry
