A result of Miguel A. Torres' innovative drive, Torres Gran Coronas couldn't have been created if Torres didn't plant the French variety of Cabernet Sauvignon in Penedès Barcelona some 50 years ago.
The normal practice was to plant local white varieties, but that was a safe option that Torres decided to challenge. Using the newly grown Cabernet Sauvignon and the common Tempranillo to craft an intensely fruity wine with delicate spices and balanced palate with ripe tannins. Aged for one year in French Oak barrels to impart deep oak flavors.
