Lifelong winemakers Steve and Carol Girard finally took the plunge and started their own winery, Benton-Lane in the 1990's. However, their love of wine started back in the 70's when they first embarked on winemaking. Today the couple produces some of the finest organic and sustainably produced wines on the market; most notably, Benton Lane Pinot Noir. Moderately priced and full of spice, this jammy wine is an easy accompaniment to lighter beef dishes.
