Comprised of 69% Cabernet Sauvignon , 15% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot, Chateau Mouton Rothschild 2004 Bordeaux will be remembered as the driest year since 1962. With only 560 mm of rainfall this vintage was saved by the early fall rains to produce grapes rich in polyphenols and showed excellent sugar concentration.
The result? A nearly opaque garnet hue with a subtle spicy nose. The palate is rich and full with the refined tannins that enfold into warm mocha flavors that embrace the palate. The finish is long and flavorsome, full of freshness and fruit set off by delicious touches of toast.
