It was 90 years ago when Giuseppe Ciprani Senior opened Harry's Bar in Venice, 15ft x 30ft this former cordage warehouse served as a meeting ground for writer, artists and royalty would meet.
The unencumbered environment was a breeding ground for creativity for many, including Cipriani himself. In 1948, he was inspired by the Venetian painter, Giovanni Bellini and it was then that he crafted what is now a cocktail staple, the Bellini.
It all started with the intent to capture the refreshing and inviting aromas and flavors of white peaches. After a few failed attempts Cipriani finally nailed it when he mixed pureed white peaches with prosecco--the rest is history.
Today nearly a century later, Cipriani's has expanded to include restaurant and their own produ ct line, that of course includes their own Bellini.
