Founded in 1513, Domaine Joseph Mellot is a historic, family-owned wine estate located in the Centre-Loire vineyard of Sancerre. So it's no surprised that their soil is composed of geological formations dating back to the Cretaceous Period. This flint-rich siliceous clay soil gives the grape its taste of gunflint and firm structure. Aged in fine lees until bottling to preserve freshness and filtered only once Joseph Mellot Sancerre is perfect to drink now or to can be stored to improve as it ages.
