Founded more than 40 years ago, La Marca is a cooperative vineyard that represents 5,000 local wine growers who farm more than 17,000 acres in northern Italy to help produce the sparkling favorite.
Although La Marca Rose Prosecco has been around for quite some time, it cease to exist on U.S. soil due to the strict regulations of the Italian National Wine Committee and the D.O.C regulations. Lucky for us the committee revised the regulation opening up the Prosecco to the U.S. Market.
Made predominantly from the expressive Glera grape, La Marca Rose Prosecco has all the same wonderful qualities of the original Prosecco with a slight difference. For a wine to qualify as Prosecco Rosé, it must include at least 85 percent Glera grapes and the rest Pinot Noir and unlike regular Prosecco, which traditionally ages for 30 days, Prosecco Rosé must age for a minimum of 60 days.
On the palate this means you'll enjoy a more crisp fruit and floral flavor with a touch of sweetness that is not overwhelming but just enough to perk up your lips.
Notes: Semi-dry, light-bodied. Aromas and flavor of peach, honeysuckle, raspberries, pear and citrus
Pairings: Shrimp, scallops, fresh berries
Serving Suggestions: Chilled
Region: Italy
Alcohol Content: 11%
