
The One and Only New Orleans Original. Sazerac Rye Whiskey symbolizes the tradition and history of New Orleans. Dating back to the 1800’s, it was at the Sazerac Coffee House on Royal Street where local patrons were served toddies made with Rye Whiskey and Peychaud’s Bitters. The libation became known as the “Sazerac” and America’s first branded cocktail was born.
Made from a mash of 51% rye, 39% corn and 10% malted barley. Sazerac Straight Rye is aged for a minimum of six years in the Kentucky heat, before a small batch of barrels are married together.
Having earned such accolades as a 94.5 rating from Jim Murray's Whisky Bible, and a score of 95 points from Wine Enthusiast, Sazerac Straight Rye is known for its spicy yet sweet aroma of rye, malt, cinnamon, cloves and black pepper. On the palate caramel, vanilla, spicy rye and candied citrus commences with a light notes of dried fruits and rye.
