Among the best kept secrets in the Rye division, is Wild Turkey Rare Breed Rye. Crafted in one of the few distilleries to remain dedicated to the art. Overseen by Father and Son, Jimmy and Eddie Russel, Rare Breed Rye was a labor of love (like all their spirits).
Using only the best ingredient available and the optimal resources of the region, Wild Turkey Rare Breed Rye starts with fresh water from the Kentucky River that is naturally filtered through limestone to remove any impurities. The blend of non-chill filtered rye mash is then fermented with their own proprietary yeast strain and aged in new charred oak barrels. Uncut and bottled directly from the barrels at whatever proof it naturally reaches.
Notes: Smooth, medium-bodied. Aromas and flavors of spice, cinnamon, honey, oak, and vanilla
